Baseball Heals Us

I've been trying for a couple hours now to get a post out about how baseball heals us, how it is the one American sport that can unite us through the worst of times as much as it can during the best, but I've been having trouble with it.

See, sometimes, there is nothing more to say.

  1. I remember after 9/11 how life had changed. I was walking around depressed, confused and scared. And I rember when the Yankees came back and started to play baseball again it was a diversion from the horror of 9/11. It also made me feel that life was "normal" again -eat dinner and watch the game. Deep down I knew that after 9/11 life as we knew it would never be the same, but having baseball back let you dream that it could.

  2. I remeber when I had to walk 10 miles to school....in my barefeet....and no jacket......and no backpack for all of my books.....we had to carry them all.

    Ah those were the days!

  3. Will the yankees spend any effort to help the family of the woman killed by "their guy" Jim Leyritz.

Going to VT was nice, make no mistake and the Million dollar donation also good.

    Just wondering.

  6. Anon 2; I don't know if the yankees have any plans to help the woman's family in the accident, but one of the beat writers might know.
